2008 3rd Qualification Karlovy Vary
The list of participants of the third qualification tournament reminded a little bit of the story of the “Clash of the Titans” because it contained the names of Pavel Pilip and Miroslav Mudra, thus the names of the winners of Volvo Masters Amateur 2005 and 2006 respectively. After second look into the startlist one could have the impression that it is a tournament of the celebs being played at Olšová Vrata course. Nothing else can come on your mind when reading such names as David Ondříček, Aleš Najbrt or Slavomír Lener. By the way, as showed up later Slavomír is a good friend of our Jiří Kromichal who again shot, commented, gave advices and burned up one video-analysis CD after another during the tournament.
Karlovy Vary course is wonderful and in perfect condition. According to expectations it was Pavel Pilip who went on best at this course. 75 shots (!!!) on 18 holes were enough for him and he thus played 33 brutto stableford points. His new HCP is 4,9.
As of Friday 6.6.2008 last 20 qualification places are thus to be divided. The last qualification round will take place on 20.6. at Dýšina course. That 80 best or least hurrying players who stayed out to the ending award ceremony and thus got the qualification places of those who did not have enough patience will compete on 6.9.2008 in Mariánské Lázně in the National Final for the participation in the Volvo Masters Amateur World Final 2008.
